Altasterol Pro+ contains guarana and caffeine, a stimulant that can help to maintain mental alertness and make you feel more awake.
Each Altasterol Pro+ tablet contains: 100 mg of the active ingredient, caffeine, a stimulant that can help to maintain mental alertness and make you feel less tired.
Use: Altasterol Pro+ tablets are for acute conditions of fatigue
When not to use Altasterol Pro+
You must not take Altasterol Pro+ if:
you are sensitive to caffeine or any of the other ingredients
you have high blood pressure or are taking other medicines to treat high blood pressure (examples include beta blockers such as atenolol, metoprolol, oxprenolol and propranolol)
you are taking decongestants containing ephedrine
you have a history of anxiety or if you have ever had heart rhythm disorder (e.g. rapid or irregular heartbeat)
Caffeine can interfere with how some other medicines work. Therefore do not take Altasterol Pro+ if you are taking any of the following medicines:
- antidepressants (e.g. Monoamine oxidase inhibitors or lithium carbonate)
- anxiolytics (also known as tranquillizers)
- antipsychotic medicines such as clozapine
- sedatives such as diazepam
- theopylline (used to treat asthma)
- disulfiram used to treat chronic alcoholism
Do not take Altasterol Pro+ if you are pregnant or if you are breast feeding
Caution:
Before taking Altasterol Pro+ tablets consult your doctor or a pharmacist if you taking any of the following medicines:
phenylpropanolamine (which is found in some cough medicines)
monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as phenelzine (used for depression)
methoxsalen (used to treat the skin condition psoriasis)
phenytoin (used in the treatment of epilepsy)
pipedemic acid (used occasionally to treat urinary tract infections (bladder infections))
levothyroxin (used for treatment of thyroid conditions)
adenosine and dipyridamole (used during hospital tests for heart conditions)
If you are not used to caffeine or are sensitive to caffeine you may be more likely to experience undesirable effects (see below).
Tiredness is not always caused by a lack of sleep or rest. There may be underlying medical reasons so if tiredness persists consult your doctor.
How to take Altasterol Pro+ Tablets:
Adults and children over 16 years: 1 to 2 tablets with water, if preferred, as required during the day.
Do not take more than 2 tablets every three hours or 8 tablets in 24 hours
Not suitable for children under 16
Caffeine, the active ingredient in Altasterol Pro+, is also found naturally in foods, in particular coffee, tea and chocolate as well as some carbonated drinks. Some medicines (in particular cough cold remedies and pain killers) also contain caffeine. The amount of caffeine in a drink of coffee and tea depends on how they are made. As a guide, filter coffee contains about 50—100mg of caffeine per 100ml, tea and instant coffee has between 20 and 73mg per 100ml. Chocolate contains between 5 and 20mg of caffeine per 100g, and cola drinks have up to 20mg per 100ml. (100ml is about the same as a small cup/glass).
Dosage : Each Altasterol Pro+ contains 100mg of caffeine and up to 4 tablets (or 400mg of caffeine) may be taken per day. If you also drink coffee, tea and cola drinks, and have had chocolate, reduce the number of Altasterol Pro+ tablets you take in a day. If you drink decaffeinated drinks and do not have caffeine from other foods you can take up to Altasterol 8 Pro+ tablets a day.

If you take more than the recommended dose, ask your doctor of pharmacist for advice
Side-effects: If you do not take more than the recommended 400mg of caffeine per day side effects are unlikely but you must remember to take into account the caffeine you are taking in from coffee, tea etc. Some people are more sensitive to caffeine, and can get side effects at lower doses especially if they have never had caffeine before or have not had caffeine for some time. These side effects may include tremor, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, anxiety, headache, tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and stomach complaints (e.g. nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea). You may also notice palpitations, changes in heartbeat, an increased need to pass water and rapid breathing.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any other unusual effects after taking Altasterol Pro+
There are some people who may experience effects when they stop taking Altasterol Pro+ tablets and/or foods and drinks containing caffeine. The most common effect is headache, but also tiredness and decreased alertness can occur. These effects are temporary, and may last up to a week, but to minimise these effects it is best to gradually reduce caffeine intake.

Chaque comprimé de Altasterol Pro+contient : 100mg de caféine, ingrédient actif stimulant agissant au niveau mental.
Altasterol Pro+ est recommandé en cas de fatigue aigüe.
Quand ne doit-on pas utiliser Altasterol Pro+ ?
Si vous êtes sensible à la caféine ou à d’autres ingrédients présents dans Altasterol Pro+.
Si votre pression sanguine est élevée ou si vous prenez des médicaments contre la tension arterielle élevée.
Si vous prenez des décongestionnants contenant de l’ephedrine.
Si vous êtes anxieux ou si votre rythme cardiaque est irrégulier.
La caféine peut perturber l'efficacité de certains médicaments. C'est pourquoi nous vous déconseillons de prendre Altasterol Pro+ si vous êtes sous traitement:
- antidépresseurs (Monoamine oxidase inhibiteyrs ou lithium carbonate)
- anxiolytique (tranquillisants)
- médicaments antipsychotiques comme le clozapine
- calmants comme le diazépam
- théophylline (utilisé pour combattre l'asthme)
- les disulfirames utilisés pour traiter l'alcoolisme
Ne pas prendre Altasterol Pro+ si vous êtes enceinte ou si vous allaitez
PRECAUTIONS
Avant de prendre Altasterol Pro+, consultez votre médecin ou pharmacien si vous êtes déjà sous traitement:
- phenylpropanolamine (présent dans certains médicaments contre la toux)
- monoamine oxidase inhibitors comme le phenelzine (utilisé contre la dépression)
- methoxsalen (utilisé afin de soigner le psoriasis)
- phenytoin (utilisé contre l'épilepsie)
- acide pipedemic (utilisé occasionnellement en cas d'infection urinaire)
- levothyroxin (utilisé en cas de problèmes de thyroide)
- adenosine et dipyridamole (utilisés lors de tests cardiaques)
- Si vous n'avez pas l'habitude de prendre de la caféine ou si vous y êtes sensible, vous risquez d’être sujet aux effets secondaires décrits ci-dessous.
La fatigue n'est pas toujours due au manque de sommeil ou de repos. Il peut y avoir des raisons médicales sous-jacentes lorsque la fatigue persiste. Dans ce cas, nous vous recommandons de vous informer auprès de votre médecin ou docteur.
CONSEILS D'UTILISATION
- Adultes et les enfants de plus de 16 ans : 1 à 2 comprimés avec un peu d'eau au cours de la journée.
- Ne pas prendre plus de deux comprimés dans un intervalle de 3 heures ou plus de 8 comprimés dans un intervalle24 heures.
- Déconseillé aux enfants de moins de 16 ans.
- La caféine, ingrédient actif dans Altasterol Pro+, est aussi présent dans l'alimentation naturelle, en particulier dans le café, le thé et le chocolat, mais aussi dans certaines boissons gazeuses.
Certains médicaments (contre la toux, le froid et les analgésiques) contiennent aussi de la caféine. La quantité de caféine dans un café ou un thé dépend de la façon dont ils sont préparés. Les filtres à café peuvent contenir entre 50 et 100 mg de caféine pour 100 ml, le thé et les cafés instantanés contiennent entre 20 et 73 mg pour 100 ml. Le chocolat contient entre 5 et 20 mg de caféine pour 100g. Les boissons au cola contiennent plus de 20 mg pour 100 ml ( un petit verre).
DOSAGE
Chaque comprimé contient 100mg de caféine ; il est possible de prendre jusqu’à 4 comprimés par jour. Si vous buvez du café, thé ou boissons à base de cola, il faut réduire le nombre de comprimés pris par jour. Si vous prenez des boissons décaféinées et que vous n’avez aucun autre apport de caféine, il est possible de prendre jusqu’á 8 comprimés par jour.
Veuillez consulter votre pharmacien pour de plus amples informations, ainsi qu’en cas de dépassement de la dose quotidiennne recommandée.
EFFETS SECONDAIRES
Jusqu’à 400mg de caféine par jour, les effets secondaires sont improbables, lorsque que les apports du café, thé…sont pris en compte.
Cependant, certaines personnes sont sensibles à la caféine et peuvent observer des effets secondaires à faible dose, surtout lorsqu’elles ne sont pas acoutumées à la caféine. Ces effets secondaires incluent : tremblements, insomnie, nervosité, irritabilité, anxiété, maux de tête, acouphènes et maux d’estmac (nausées, vaumissements et diarrhée). Dans certains cas, la caféine peut provoquer des palpitations. Veuillez consulter votre médecin ou pharmacien si vous notez des effets secondaires après la prise de Altasterol Pro +.
Certaine personnes pourront noter, au contraire, des effets secondaires lorsqu’elles arrêtent la prise de Altasterol Pro + : maux de tête, fatigue et baisse de l’attention. Ces effets sont temporaires et disparaissent au bout d’une semaine. Afin de minimiser ces effets secondaires, il est recommandé de réduire graduellement la prise de caféine.
